(3) I have been a member of the LDS Church for nearly 40 years, but Testimony isn't something that happens automatically - at least not very often; it comes from testing the Gospel in your own life, and reading the Book of Mormon. Since this Church is the only Church in the world that proclaims and follows living Prophets and Apostles, one has to gain a testimony of the Prophet whether they are the Words of the Living God or are his own words and a Living Testimony can only come from the Holy Ghost. You must read the Book of Mormon, and then ask Heavenly Father if it is true; if you read it with real intent, having faith in Christ, God will reveal the truth of it to you by and through the Power of the Holy Ghost. This is the ONLY way that one can truly gain a testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We challenge you to do these things before you judge.

I want you to know that after doing just that, I have had a living testimony of the Gospel and that God does lead, direct and guide His Church today through living Prophets and Apostles. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God, as was all the ancient Prophets and is a Prophet of God, and that all succeeding Prophets and Apostles have been called by the Spirit of Prophecy and Revelation and that this Work is the Work of Salvation through Jesus Christ, to both Jew and Gentile alike, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His Church on the earth today.

I bear you this testimony in the Sacred Name of Jesus Christ - Amen.

(2) John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven…He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
(John 3:27 and 33).

I humbly and gratefully bare you my testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ, which for a very long while was lost to the earth through the martyrdom of apostles and the deceptions of man (called the dark ages), has been restored, for the final time, to the children of men. I know this is true because the Holy Spirit has born testimony to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church and that Joseph Smith was divinely called to be the prophet of this last dispensation and that he was instructed to translate a record of “other sheep” (John 10:16: And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd), known as The Book of Mormon-Another Testimony of Jesus Christ. This book does not replace the Bible but only stands to testify of the truthfulness of it. Something really needed in the times of confusion and doubt that we all live in now.

I believe the same organization that was found in the church Christ himself organized is found in this church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth. The Apostle Paul gave a good statement of this Church in Ephesians 4:11-16 and also in Ephesians 2:20-22.

I know that a prophet is necessary to receive the words that our Heavenly Father wants his church to receive: “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7). In that regard, I know that we are lead by our Savior, Jesus Christ, through a living prophet today.

I testify that Jesus Christ is the redeemer of all mankind and that if we sincerely repent of all our sins, obey the commandments and ordinances of the gospel all our days, we will be worthy to return to him and our Heavenly Father when we leave this earth. You are all my brothers and sisters and my heart aches for you to receive this same testimony that we may all come back together in our Father’s house when we leave here.

The Lord has given us each a mandate (commandment). Please read Luke 22:32: “When thou art converted strengthen thy brethren”.

Brothers and Sisters, if you are true seekers of the light of Christ, I pray that you will consider these things I’ve testified to and read the Book of Mormon prayerfully, and I promise you, the Lord will reveal to you that these things are true!! This is my solemn testimony and I give it in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

(1) I feel compelled to add my testimony to the many of my brothers and sisters who have done so already. I would first like to testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one true restored church and that there are many blessings there for those who seek rest.
I was born of goodly parents on the first day in the third month in the year nineteen hundred and fifty-four. My mother was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and my father was born a Baptist although he was non-practicing.

In my tenth year I requested that I be baptized into the LDS Church and this was done along with my sister Laurie. When I was eighteen I entered the United States Marine Corps and was sent to Okinawa to the Third Marine Division and later, to RVN (Republic of Vietnam) where the Lord intervened in saving my life on several occasions.

After leaving the Marine Corps, I met my wife at College one night and we were married three months later. Although a non-member, my wife is a good woman and blessed us with three beautiful children. Robert, Chris and Amber, all great kids, each with there own individual personality. My wife, being born a Catholic, was against rearing our children as LDS and I was against them being raised Catholic. However, before they were born, we decided to let them choose there own religion when they were old enough to do so. Robert, tremendously independent has still not chosen his religious path; but both Chris and Amber were baptized LDS some years ago.

On the night of January 2, 2006, Chris wanted to go to Hollywood with friends. In the course of the evening, it rained very hard and Chris was involved in a terrible car accident. The vehicle he was driving had bald tires and hydroplaned into a building in excess of forty miles per hour. By the time the paramedics got to my son he was dead because the left side of his chest was crushed from the impact of the accident.

“Behold I the Lord your God am the maker of worlds and the savior of lives!” What was the miracle? The building Chris had hit was located approximately forty yards from a Fire Station! The Firefighters and Paramedics heard the crash and pulled my lifeless son from the vehicle and in a matter of a few seconds; they were able to get his heart started again and his breathing restored, after which, they took him to the hospital.

Had this been the only miracle that night I would have a powerful testimony, is this not so? But the Lord in his Infinite Wisdom blessed us with many miracles that night. The Hospital they took my son to was Cedar Sinai Hospital, one of the top ten hospitals in the United States. My son's doctor was, and still is, to my knowledge, the best neurosurgeon in the world. My son’s injuries in the order of life threatening were: A double brain contusion; a crushed left lung; a broken sternum; a broken left clavicle; three broken ribs; a broken pelvis and a broken left arm. Seven bones in all. I was told by several neurosurgeons under Dr. Kevin Black that, had Chris went to any other Hospital they would have opened his head up like a jar of peaches because of the swelling. But the Neurosurgeon in charge, Dr. Black, thought this unnecessary.

The outcome of Chris's condition was seriously in doubt and I asked for the Missionaries to come and pray for Chris, as he was in a coma. The Missionaries prayed for Chris and anointed him as he was in need of surgery to re-inflate his left lung. The surgery was a success and Chris's breathing was increased by 50% but he was still in a coma. After four days from the accident, he came out of his coma completely blind from the brain contusions. One of the first things he told me, as he put it, "I had a phone call from GOD" and in his pain, would smile each and every time he would tell me about his phone call from GOD. He refused to open his eyes because all he could see was blindness and after the fourth day of coming out of his coma, Chris's eyesight was restored as the swelling in his brain subsided.

Chris needed time to recover from his injuries and was at Cedar's for twenty one days, at which time he was transferred to a recovery center where he spent an additional two weeks.

Chris was so broken up that two months after the accident, he had an additional surgery to repair his broken left arm. The accident left him with a total loss of memory for six months before the accident and six months after. Oh not completely! On the night the Missionaries prayed for him and anointed him, Chris told me, as he put it again, "I had a phone call from GOD". Chris can vividly recall fishing in a pond in a peaceful place and he recalls someone was fishing with him; looking up, it was Jesus who was fishing with Chris. In the peace of this place, Jesus asked Chris, "Chris do you want to live?" and Chris told Jesus, "Yes, Jesus I do."

After an additional three days, Chris came out of the coma. Chris had to learn to read, write, walk and speak in a normal tone all over again. The miracle? A year and a half later, my only grand child to the date of this writing, was born, our beautiful Jewel. She is a gift from the All Eternal GOD and a reminder that GOD sees us and knows us and sometimes brings us back from the dead to accomplish our mission on this earth.

Chris has recovered completely; something that would not have happened had he had brain surgery. GOD made everything go right and I thank him for His intervention.

Assured in the knowledge that all things are meant for good in our Lord Jesus Christ, this testimony is not the only one I have because the One True GOD has blessed me with many. My testimony is meant for the edification of my brothers and sisters and anyone that would seek the truth and take the time to read it. Be it known that there is One True Light that Lights the world and makes the dark places shine with the Testimony of His Goodness, and the Bearer of this Light is Jesus Christ.

I say these things in the name of our Beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. - Amen
